Lake Jackson
is a
man-made
lake near
the city
limits of
Oak Hill. It
is the home
of the
Jefferson
Furnace,
which was
used to make
pig iron for
the
iron-clad
ship,the
USS
Monitor,
during the
Civil War.
The
Jefferson
Furnace
is available
today for
sightseers.
The furnace
is located
at the edge
of the lake
on State
Route 279.
Lake Jackson
is also an
Ohio
State Park.
