By joining the Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce, one demonstrates an interest in the community in which one lives and/or does business. In order for the community and its business environment to progress and prosper, the community needs leadership and inspiration from members of the community and its businesses. Chamber members benefit from the collective action of all chamber members.

About the Oak Hill Chamber of Commerce

The Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer, non-profit 501 (c)(6) organization. The Chamber's mission is to support economic and community development through the united efforts of business and local citizens pursuing a common goal to promote the Oak Hill area as a great place to live.

The Oak Hill Chamber of Commerce works in collaboration with many other organizations and local government to promote our community as a great place to live. The Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce is funded by over 100 members and driven by effective leadership. Our organization offers programs and services that support our members, and in turn, support the community.

OFFICERS

Kurtis Strickland serves as President of the Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Strickland received a Bachelor of Science from Ohio University in 1999 with a specialization in Geography and an emphasis in Urban and Regional Planning. Since 1999 Mr. Strickland has worked for the Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP) as a Field Agent where he works with villages, cities, counties, and water and sewer districts to complete water and wastewater projects.

Bruce Barkhurst serves as Vice-President of the Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Barkhurst is the partner of SAF-T-TRAIN, a business that provides safety training in southern Ohio. Mr. Barkhurst received a Bachelor of Arts from Circleville Bible College in 1978 and a Masters of Education from Ashland University in 1988. Mr. Barkhurst spent nearly 30 years in the education field before moving back to Oak Hill in 2009.

Judy Hamilton serves as the secretary of the Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce. Judy (Ruth) Hamilton serves as the secretary of the Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Hamilton earned her Bachelor of Science from Ohio State University and a Master’s degree from Ohio University, both in Family and Consumer Science. Mrs. Hamilton taught Family and Consumer Science Education (home economics) at Oak Hill High School for 35 years. She has always enjoyed being active in the community as high school FCCLA advisor, through church events, as a Girl Scout leader, and participation in various community groups.

Caleb Brafford serves as Treasurer of the Oak Hill Area Chamber of Commerce.
